Walnut Creek, CALIF., January 3, 2011 – Archer Norris is pleased to announce that two attorneys have been elevated to partner, and three have been named special counsel. Effective January 1, 2011, Roger E. Marken in the firm’s Newport Beach office and J. Michael McGuire in the firm’s Sacramento office join the partnership. In the firm’s Walnut Creek office, Danielle Arteaga, Jasun Molinelli, and Ioana Mondescu elevate to Special Counsel.

Marken advises insurance companies and their clients, counseling on underwriting, reinsurance and claims analysis. He has litigated cases involving insurance bad faith and insurance coverage across a wide range of issues from environmental and product liability matters to errors and omissions and umbrella and excess liability. Marken also acts as national coordinating counsel for several international insurance carriers. He received his J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 1972, his B.S. from the University of Washington in 1967 and has a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating.
McGuire’s practice centers on the California construction industry, with a particular focus on mobile home park operations. McGuire provides advice and litigation support to construction professionals dealing with the prosecution and defense of mechanics’ lien claims, primarily for private works. He also counsels and represents landlords in the development, use and corporate operation of their real property ventures. McGuire received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1983 and his B.A. from Brigham Young University – Provo in 1975.
Arteaga focuses her practice on the firm’s insurance coverage, appellate and litigation practice groups. She counsels and represents insurance carriers with respect to claims handling and coverage issues under a variety of policies. Arteaga received her J.D. from John F. Kennedy University School of Law in 2000 and her B.A. from San Francisco State University in 1995.
Molinelli works in the business, environmental, solid waste and construction litigation practice groups. He focuses his practice on representing contractors, business entities, insurers and private individuals in litigation and in complex daily transactions. Molinelli received his J.D. from St. Johns University School of Law in 1999 and his B.S. from St. Mary's College of California in 1993.
Mondescu focuses her practice on complex litigation and handles a wide variety of product liability and commercial disputes matters. She also defends manufacturers in toxic tort cases, including asbestos-containing products and chemicals. Mondescu received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Francisco, School of Law in 2000 and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997.
