ARCHER NORRIS ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERS AND SPECIAL COUNSEL
Walnut Creek, CALIF., January 4, 2010 – Archer Norris is pleased to announce a distinguished group of new partners and special counsel. The firm welcomes William L. Coggshall, Charles R. Diaz, Trajan Perez, Kevin Place and Jiyon C. Yun to the rank of partner, effective January 1, 2010. Noël M. Caughman, Jocelyn M. Soriano and Jonathan W. Thames have been promoted to special counsel.

Our new partners and special counsel illustrate the firm’s continued broad-based growth in key practices:
Coggshall litigates complex commercial cases with an emphasis on design professional liability and construction matters, and specializes in the representation of architects and engineers. He received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 1999 and his B.A. from San Jose State University in 1995. Coggshall is based in Walnut Creek.
Diaz has over 20 years of litigation experience and focuses his practice on complex litigation, insurance litigation, toxic tort, and environmental matters. He was formerly a partner with Murtaugh, Meyer, Nelson & Treglia. Diaz graduated with his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 1979 and received his B.A. from Pitzer College, Claremont in 1975. He is based in Los Angeles.
Perez is a litigation attorney with a wide range of experience in handling product liability, environmental, and commercial defense matters. He is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, and New York. Perez received both his J.D. and M.B.A. from Syracuse University in 2000 and received his B.A. from Angelo State University in 1991. He is based in Los Angeles.
Place is an experienced litigation attorney with significant trial experience. He specializes in representing clients in wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, and construction accidents. He graduated from Western State University College of Law with his J.D. in 1993 and from the University of California, Irvine with his B.A. in 1988. Place is based in Los Angeles.
Yun, who is fluent in Korean, focuses her practice in the areas of product liability, toxic torts, general liability, financial services litigation, and construction litigation. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1996 and received her B.A. from the University of California, Davis in 1993. She is based in Walnut Creek.
Caughman concentrates her practice in business, healthcare, and employment law. She specializes in the representation of financial institutions, hospitals, and other business entities with an emphasis in transactional work. Caughman received her J.D. in 1991 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her B.A. in 1988 from the University of California, Berkeley. She is based in Walnut Creek.
Soriano is a litigator whose practice focuses on civil litigation, product, premises, and tort liability. She is admitted to practice in both California and Oregon, and received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Soriano is based in Walnut Creek.
Thames has substantial maritime experience. His practice encompasses trial work in the areas of marine insurance coverage, product liability, catastrophic personal injury and death claims, regulatory violation claims, and pollution/chemical exposure claims. He received his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 1996 and his B.A. from Tulane University in 1993. Thames is based in Walnut Creek.
