Archer Norris partner Jiyon Yun was featured in the Recorder's online New Partners Experience oral interview, where she discussed her “road to partnership.” Jiyon was listed among the approximately 250 attorneys named as new partners in California since July 1, 2009, along with fellow new partners William L. Coggshall, Trajan Perez, and Kevin Place.
In the interview, Jiyon recounts her family’s beginnings in San Francisco. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. from Korea when she was two years old with only $200 in their wallet and three young children. Growing up, Jiyon’s family owned a sandwich shop on Van Ness Avenue. As a young girl driving by City Hall to pick up donuts at 5 AM with her parents, she would dream about someday working there or at government offices when she grew up. Now she goes to court on a weekly basis and occasionally stops to remember how she felt as a little child, dreaming about what she wanted to be as an adult.
