A skilled and dedicated attorney, Anthony Phillips is a senior associate in our San Francisco office. He concentrates his practice on commercial and finance disputes.

Focused on Litigation

A member of the Archer Norris litigation team, Tony focuses on complex and commercial litigation. He has litigated antitrust, consumer protection, corporate governance and securities cases from inception to resolution in state and federal court. 

Business and Financial Services Know-How

Tony draws upon his experience in corporate, securities, and competition law to counsel clients on issues arising out of contract disputes, misrepresentation, and unfair business practices.  His familiarity with federal and California statutes and regulations governing competition, corporate and mortgage finance, and consumer transactions enable him to represent clients facing a broad range of legal challenges.  

Before Archer Norris

Prior to joining Archer Norris, Anthony was an associate at Berman DeValerio, where he practiced class action litigation in the antitrust and securities fields.  Before law school, he worked as Director of Product Management for a Bay Area software company, providing transportation and shipping solutions to Fortune 500 manufacturers

Anthony Phillips’ representative matters include: 

  • Mortgage-Backed Securities – Obtained a $340+ million settlement after mediation in a federal securities class action alleging misrepresentations about mortgage quality and originations in offering documents filed with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). This is the third-largest settlement of its kind. 
  • “In-App” Purchases – Successfully represented consumers in a case of unauthorized “in app” sales to children through Apple’s App Store.
  • Dairy Farmers –Represented dairy farmers alleging manipulation of federal milk pricing programs by an agricultural cooperative.
