Lisa Estabrook provides legal counsel to businesses throughout California. With nearly 20 years of experience in civil litigation, Lisa focuses her practice on employment law, defense of mobile home park owners, personal injury defense, construction defect, products liability and business litigation.

She is known and appreciated for her proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Persuading California Juries in Complex Business Litigation

An experienced trial attorney, Lisa has taken four jury trials to verdict in state and federal court and recently settled a fifth after week three. She’s also successfully handled several binding arbitrations and bench trials in employment, automobile accident and unlawful detainer matters.

The federal court jury trial involved prosecution of a complex fraud/breach of contract dispute surrounding the formation of a large retail business. Her most recent catastrophic injury trial involved the defense of a major recreational boating manufacturer in a personal injury, products liability case lasting over 48 trial days. The other three state court cases involved defense of a mobile home park in a complex failure to maintain case, defense of a commercial property damage claim on behalf of a large water bottling company, and defense of a personal injury claim arising from a motor vehicle accident on behalf of an underground pipeline company and its employee.

Lisa has served as a Neutral for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District’s Voluntary Dispute Resolution Program.

Mobile Home Park Owner Representation

  • Lisa has experience defending park owners at the trial and pre-trial stage against claims of Failure to Maintain and provides advice and counsel to park owners regarding ongoing operational issues dealing with utilities, drainage, Title 25 claims, and rent control.

Construction Defect Matters

  • Lisa has defended general contractors, developers and subcontractors in numerous construction defect maters involving both residential and commercial properties.

Complex Business Litigation

  • Lisa has participated in the prosecution of complex business litigation matters, including securities fraud, antitrust, class and derivative litigation.

Employment Law

  • Lisa has represented litigants in both state and federal courts in employment matters based on Title VII, Federal Civil Rights and Fair Employment and Housing Act claims. 
  • Before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, she successfully argued a disability discrimination claim brought under the American with Disabilities Act on behalf of a national retailer. 
  • Before the California Court of Appeal for the Third District, she successfully argued a gender-based harassment case on behalf of a national food distributor.

  • Lisa has represented automobile dealerships, hotels, retailers, distributors and small business owners before local, state and federal administrative, governmental and judicial bodies in employment, wage-hour and disabled access matters.
